There are rules to follow, of course. They are posted within the park. Do not bring your own toys (territorial thing).

Great park. Huge area including trails, creek and forest to let your dogs run and explore. On colder days they have a fire pit that is open to use to warm up with. They also offer water at the park for your pups. On the colder days the water might be frozen, so bringing your own might be a safe bet. Plenty of water bowls.

So far everyone I have encountered has been extremely nice and friendly.

You can get a daily or yearly pass at Carlon Ice Arena. It works for all 3 Rockford park district dog parks.

Dog day afternoon. Dusk till dawn, meet up with your fellow dogs and puppies. Bark, Howl, roll in a dead squirrel. Just about anything goes. No fighting, biting or humping allowed, but the rest is open game. For a grrrreat time, stroll on in. Sniff ya there!
